Over a million Canadians face transport poverty, a challenge that city builders and governments are increasingly eager to address through equitable, sustainable transportation solutions. Our latest Mobilizing Justice Community of Practice webinar featured INTERACT, and experts from the City of Edmonton and the County of Kings, focusing on their efforts towards creating transportation systems that are fair and accessible to all.<\/p>\n

This webinar delved into INTERACT\u2019s latest report, “Practices and Inspiration for Sustainable Transportation Equity<\/a><\/span>,” which provides a blueprint for cities to integrate equity into the planning, delivery, and evaluation of transportation projects.\u00a0 Brittany Traynor from the County of Kings in Nova Scotia showcased initiatives that incorporated reconciliation and anti-racism in transportation, and Dr. Shewkar Ibrahim from the City of Edmonton used a Gender Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) approach to identify and address transportation inequities.<\/p>\n
