Over 4 million trips a day in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area are less than 5km long and could be cycled. Yet cycling rates remain stubbornly low in suburban communities. Join us for either a half or whole day of strategies and training, focused on building bike culture beyond downtown, with targeted approaches at schools and at the neighbourhood level.<\/p>\n
Community agency staff (health, settlement, youth, recreation, development), transportation demand management practitioners, active transportation planning staff at municipalities and school boards from Toronto\u2019s inner suburbs and outlying municipalities.<\/p>\n

Safe infrastructure is a key enabler to more cycling, but it can be difficult to champion in places where a cycling culture doesn\u2019t exist. Jump-start the process by incubating cycling through a community bike hub. Discover how unlikely partnerships and a targeted approach can grow cycling, and dig into the potential that exists within your own community.<\/p>\n

Youthful enthusiasm can drive neighbourhood change. More children and youth are biking to school today than five years ago, throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Working in schools, we can build upon existing resources and expertise to enable students to ride confidently and safely, and to foster leadership for safe streets among students, families and educators.<\/p>\n
