We are excited to announce the launch of our new and improved Complete Streets Game! TCAT volunteers spent the evening packaging up sets, and celebrating the launch of the newest edition of the game. You can order your games online today.
Since April 2018, over 250 copies of the game have been sold to municipalities, consultants, teachers, professors, and community leaders all over North America.
From coast-to-coast, in towns as small as Lantzville, BC and Warman, SK and cities as large as Toronto and Montreal, the game has been used in citizen engagement sessions, conferences, professional development workshops, and classrooms to encourage creativity in co-designing Complete Streets.
After quickly selling out of our first production run, we worked with purchasers of the games to learn what worked well, and what needed some improvement. Based on your feedback, we’ve been working to improve the design to make the game adaptable to more contexts.
In the new game, you’ll find some additions—including HOV lanes, multi-use trails, and new options for lane widths, so that the game works better for streets in suburban and rural communities. There are also extensions to the right-of-way width ruler, so that you can work on roads up to 39 metres in width. We’ve also developed a “Quick Reference Guide” to help you learn what the pieces represent at-a-glace, but each kit still comes with detailed Instructions, which give examples of each piece of infrastructure in action.
We can’t wait to see what Complete Streets designs you create! Order your sets today, and share your designs on social media with the hashtag #CompleteStreetsGame.
