Are you interested in working collaboratively to design healthy, active, and equitable communities? Do you want to expand your professional practice, push the conventions of citizen engagement, and learn about inspiring co-design projects across Canada? If so, we’re excited to invite you to participate in an all-new webinar series by our Active Neighbourhoods Canada partnership!
This series of six webinars (three in English, and three in French) will invite participants to learn about the co-design approach developed by the Active Neighbourhoods Canada partnership, which engages citizens and professionals in designing healthy and equitable communities. The series will also introduce tools to implement the approach, showcase inspiring case studies from across Canada, and introduce policy best practices to support healthy and equitable communities.
These webinars are inspired by the array of tools developed, implemented and evaluated by the Active Neighbourhoods Canada partnership in 12 diverse Canadian communities over the last 10 years.
The series is just one way that we’re looking to expand the impact of our co-design approach. Over the past months, we’ve been working hard to reach new people and engage new communities in our co-design work. Last month, our partnership hosted a daylong summit in Quebec City. With generous funding from the McConnell Foundation, we convened like-minded not-for-profits from coast-to-coast to plan about the future of the ANC network, and strategize about the scaling out of the ANC project approach. We’re also working to develop a policy change toolkit, which will provide resources to support communities to influence policy at the intersection of the built environment, participatory planning and health equity.
If you want to learn more about our approach, and how you can get involved, the new webinar series is an excellent place to start! The themes explored in the webinars are:
