HTA amendments to support and promote active transportation

CIMA+, a Canadian consulting engineering firm, was retained by the Regional Public Works Commissioners of Ontario (RPWCO) to review the Ontario Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and determine what amendments may be appropriate to support and promote active transportation in Ontario.

In December, 2010 TCAT was invited by CIMA+ to complete a survey about proposed modifications to the HTA with respect to active transportation. This was an opportunity for the active transportation community to voice some of our concerns and suggestions relating to the HTA, and an opportunity to relay the impacts this could have on our daily activities.

TCAT solicited input from TCAT News subscribers and compiled this coordinated response.
